Who This Service Is For

You may qualify for passport renewal using Form DS-82 if your previous passport:

• was issued when you were age 16 or older
• was issued within the past 15 years
• is not damaged
• will be submitted with your renewal application

If you do not meet these requirements, you must apply using Form DS-11.

How 48-Hour Renewal Processing Works

Unlike DS-11 applications, passport renewals do not require an acceptance appointment.
