48 Hour Passport does not issue passports. The issuance of U.S. passports to U.S. citizens is controlled exclusively by the State Department’s Passport Agency, which reserves the right to request additional information and supporting documentation. We have no control over these requirements, but if your application is rejected we will promptly notify you and explain what is needed. Please note that service fees paid to 48 Hour Passport and the State Department are non-refundable.
Please tell your agent in advance about any issue that might prevent you from obtaining a passport — such as a criminal conviction, child support obligations, incomplete criminal probation, or money owed to the U.S. government from overseas loans.
During adjudication, the U.S. government may temporarily place an application in suspense if more information is needed — for example, additional identification, birth record problems, routine name holds, fraud concerns, or multiple lost passports. The State Department keeps a suspense application active for ninety (90) days, after which it is considered abandoned. Application fees are not refunded once submitted, so we recommend telling us in advance if you believe your application may be suspended, so we can help resolve issues before submission.
48 Hour Passport does not control any Passport Agency’s decision to issue a passport; all applications are submitted based on the available criteria. We advise purchasing travel insurance to cover any potential trip losses, delays, or cancellations.
48 Hour Passport acts on behalf of the customer and takes no responsibility for services provided by other entities, including the U.S. Passport Service, the U.S. Postal Service Acceptance Agent program, Clerks of Court, foreign Consulates, Embassies, and travel agents. All information and prices are subject to change without notice. We are not responsible for delays or loss of passports occurring through any carrier (FedEx, UPS, DHL, U.S. Postal Express Mail, or similar) or for acts of war, acts of God, airline delays, or weather delays.
